Dynamic Convenience Fee in SmartBuy

SmartBuy is a customer engagement platform for HDFC Bank customers, where they can avail multiple merchant deals and offers across categories such as flights, hotels, etc., funded by merchants and the Bank.

Other platforms which are currently in the e-commerce market usually charge a convenience fee for hosting and processing the particular service. SmartBuy, on the contrary, charges a static/fixed convenience fee only for the 'Flights' module/service within it.

The current convenience fee is fixed i.e., Rs. 236 (inclusive of GST), which is applicable on the ‘Flights’ section in SmartBuy and Unification.

The proposed convenience fee would be dynamic in nature, meaning, it is dependent on the number and type of passengers (Adult, Child or Infant), sector-wise (Domestic or International) as well as trip-wise (One way or Round trip). This fee would multiply based on the number of passengers travelling (same for Adult and Child). There will be no convenience fee charged for infants.

Convenience fee charged would be non-refundable.
